One of the most important dates in the calendar for those who live in the United States is July 4, the day on which the Independence of this country is commemorated, which, in 1776, formally proclaimed its separation from the British Empire.

Although for everyone, the 4th of July is synonymous with celebration, for many others, the date holds a “curse”, since some North American presidents lost their lives, precisely on Independence Day.

4th of July “Curse”?: The Presidents Who Died on Independence Day
1) John Adams
He was one of the founders of the nation; he became the country’s first vice president and on March 4, 1797 he became the second president in US history.
He died of a kidney infection on July 4, 1826, at the age of 90, just as the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence was being celebrated.
2) Thomas Jefferson
Jefferson died the same day as Adams, 5 hours before him, the victim of a heart attack at the age of 82. Both had a strong political rivalry that was resolved later and that led them to have a great friendship over the years.
Jefferson is considered one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, being one of the authors of the Declaration of Independence. From 1801 to 1809 and he was the third president of the country.
3) James Monroe
He was the fifth US President and the last Founding Father to be elected to the office. It is known that he died on July 4, 1831, due to tuberculosis, at the age of 73.
