osasuna-will-go-to-the-cas-after-uefa's-decision-to-leave-it-out-of-the-conference-league

Club Atlético Osasuna has been left out of the next edition of the Conference League after a controversial decision by the Union of European Football Federations (UEFA).

The UEFA Appeals Committee itself has been in charge of excluding Osasuna from European competition.

For this reason, the Navarrese club will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) because they consider that it is a “serious violation of their rights.”

The club published a statement on its website, a statement, in which they highlight their rejection of the UEFA measure.

“The members of the UEFA Appeals Committee have not taken into account the allegations presented by the entity last Friday and have reaffirmed the initial opinion of the inspectors of the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee,” the statement said.

“Club Atlético Osasuna does not share UEFA’s criteria or the investigation of the case carried out at all and regrets the wrong message that UEFA sends to the world of football punishing those who denounce corruption and prosecute it legally,” added the team.

The reasons why the Appeals Committee has decided to exclude Osasuna will be transferred to the entity in the coming days, to continue with the inquiries.

And he concludes that “Club Atlético Osasuna will continue to deploy all the legal instruments at its disposal to stand up to UEFA and put an end to what it considers a serious violation of its rights.”
