snap-payments:-three-states-where-they-will-start-distributing-food-aid

Starting this Wednesday, July 5, and until the middle of the month, Georgia, Indiana, and Utah will distribute payments from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

The amount depends on each state, but this benefit will be assigned the same day the person previously received the aid.

The date when funds are awarded depends on the beneficiary’s Social Security number, last name, case number, or account number.

Georgia.- It will begin sending payments on Wednesday and will continue until July 23. It is estimated that 1.6 million people receive this support for food. The median payment per household member per month is $188. If the entire family is considered, the maximum payment is $740 for a three-member household, but if there are eight, the amount increases to $1,691.

Indiana.- SNAP aid mailing dates will be July 5-23. The minimum amount is $182 for each household member. More than 600,000 people receive that help. The maximum amount is $1,691 per household.

Utah.- This entity has three dates to send SNAP payments: July 5, July 11, and July 15. It is estimated that more than 150,000 people receive the aid. In Utah the maximum is $1,330 for a household of up to six people.

It should be remembered that in the three states mentioned, the program adds $211 for each additional member under the age of nine.

The SNAP food program is awarded in all 50 states and the District of Columbia through the EBT card, which is accepted at grocery stores and farmers markets or some online retailers.

This benefit is also accessible to some immigrants, such as Green Card holders.
