Actor Jamie Foxx appeared in a video on his Instagram account to thank all the love he has been given after health complications that put his life at risk.
The American star, Oscar winner for ‘Ray’ and currently in the movie ‘They Cloned Tyrone’ (Netflix), shared that he did go through hard times, but dismissed all the rumors that have appeared, such as that he is paralyzed.
“I went through something that I thought would never ever happen. I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates, but to be honest, I just didn’t want to be seen like this,” she noted.
In the clip, the actor holds back tears as he recounts his experience at the hospital.
“I want you to see me laughing, having fun, partying, telling a joke, making a movie or a TV show. I didn’t want you to see me with the tubes coming out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it.
“They said I was paralyzed, I’m not paralyzed, but I’ve been to hell and back, and my road to recovery has been bumpy as well. I’ll go back and I can work,” said Foxx, 55.
The ‘Django Unchained’ star thanked his daughter Corinne and sister Deidra Dixon for sticking by him.
Foxx was in the middle of production on ‘Back in Action’ when he had to be hospitalized.
“To them, to God, to many excellent doctors, I can leave this video. I can’t tell you how good it feels to have your family step in like that, and you know they kept it airtight, they didn’t let anything out, they protected me, and that’s what I hope everyone can have in times like these.”
