A video from a surveillance camera shows just the moment a woman in a wheelchair was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing a street located in Brooklyn. The images were obtained by The New York Post.

The 68-year-old woman was making her way through Webster Avenue around 1:30 p.m. when a 73-year-old driver driving a Lexus SUV southbound on McDonald Avenue severely struck her, authorities said.

In the images you can see the victim in a wheelchair in a green blouse moving slowly towards the street at the edge of the crosswalk when the vehicle accelerates and hits her, leaving her unconscious, according to the New York Post.

The woman suffered severe trauma to her entire body, officials said.

She was also transferred to the Maimonides Hospital where she was declared dead from her injuries.

The driver stayed at the scene and authorities are treating the crash as an accident at this time, the New York Police Department said.
