The actress Sofía Castro, daughter of Angélica Rivera, assured that she suffered being part of the presidential family after her mother married the PRI member Enrique Peña Nieto.
“We always did the best we could, we endured, because people were bad, they told me very ugly things on social networks, that I hope I would die. It cost me my self-esteem, that they closed so many doors on me. Yes, there were unique opportunities and experiences, but in politics it is black or white, it is not gray, “she declared in an interview with Yordi Rosado.
The also daughter of the television producer “El Güero” Castro asserted that her father helped her during those moments, because for her it was a shock to be part of the presidential family from 2012 to 2018.
“It was a shock to say: ‘He’s the president, my mom is the first lady.’ We moved house and my dad, my mom, Enrique, talked to us about how big a responsibility it was.
“My dad was a great piece, a great support. They told us what it implied, what one had to be, that it was a position of great responsibility, prudence. And that we take care of the people who were going to approach us, ”he added.
The actress confessed that she is currently working to heal all the insecurities that caused her to be in that environment where her self-esteem was damaged.
“It leaves many sequels, many traumas, insecurities, in which you have to work every day. There are times when I need everyone’s recognition and validation. Trusting myself has cost me a lot of work, to recover my self-esteem, “she shared.

Castro recalled how the president conquered his mother, since it was common for “La Gaviota” to receive details from Peña Nieto.
“I began to see that flowers arrived at the house and little details. Suddenly: ‘Mom, who sends you flowers?’ And she told me: ‘Well, it’s him, I’m dating Enrique.’ He told us everything, he introduced us, we met his children. I met him at my house. Something that surprised me is the way in which he conquered my mother with details, going to see her at home and until she formalized herself, “he said.
She explained that the former president always behaved very well with her mother and with her, and that he always guided them.
“He made us part of his life and it was later that they began to formalize and we already formed a family, the wedding and everything they know. My mother married him in November 2010. The truth is that it was always something that my sisters and I talked about, we were afraid that my parents would be left alone, ”she commented.
“La Gaviota” and Peña Nieto announced their separation in mid-2019, citing irreconcilable differences.
