A Macabre Find in Cuemanco

On the afternoon of Monday, July 24, the quiet atmosphere of Cuemanco was shattered when citizens using the area to exercise alerted police to the grim find.

In response to the call, members of the Heroico Fire Department and CDMX Police immediately arrived and cordoned off the scene to ensure the integrity of the investigation.

The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX) will play a crucial role in the investigation, with its experts arriving on scene to conduct a thorough examination.

The priority was to recover the body and move it to the appropriate amphitheater for further examination. As the investigation progresses, the first inquiries are aimed at shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the incident and bringing clarity to this tragic case.

The Cuemanco area, known for its cultural attractions and sports facilities, has become a place of concern due to recent events.

The discovery of a second floating body in the same area in just four days has drawn attention and has generated more concern, according to the Mexican outlet Excelsior.

The previous incident, on July 22, was also handled by the FGJ, and the authorities are now under enormous pressure to resolve these worrisome cases.

According to information from the Criminal Semáforo, Mexico City has witnessed 70 investigation folders related to homicides in the month of June alone.

The Xochimilco mayor’s office has reported 16 homicide cases during the first six months of this year, which highlights the seriousness of the problem.
