On June 20, the 2023 Women’s World Cup began in Australia and New Zealand, and this Monday was the debut of Argentina vs. the Italian team. Meetings that the European team took with the final result 1-0.

During the match, a great controversy arose around one of the Albicelestes players, as Yamila Rodríguez was severely attacked by fans of her country after displaying the tattoos she has on her leg during the match.

One of the designs that the Brazilian Palmeiras player wears is the face of Diego Armando Maradona, one of the greatest idols of Argentine soccer. So far so good, because the “Fluff” is even present in the skin of several soccer players.

The controversy came when the Argentines identified that a little below Maradona’s tattoo was one with the face of Cristiano Ronaldo. This raised a lot of criticism of the national team player and the soccer player herself had to go out on her social networks to clarify the situation.

Rodríguez was labeled “anti Messi” by the Argentine fans, just for the fact of wearing a Cristiano Ronaldo tattoo. Player who for more than 15 years was Lionel Messi’s greatest sports rival.

“Please enough. I’m not having a good time. At what point did I say that I am anti Messi? Stop saying things that I didn’t say because I’m really having a hard time (in the middle of a World Cup, representing the country). I do not have a bad time for you but for the atrocities that you say without mercy, ”the 25-year-old forward launched through her Instagram.

Yamila also took advantage of the post to clarify that despite the fact that her idol and football inspiration is the Portuguese player, she does not feel any hatred towards Messi.

“Can’t you have an idol or a player you like? Please. I never said that I am anti Messi and I never would be. Messi is our great captain in the National Team, but the fact that I say that my inspiration and my idol is CR7 does not mean that I hate Messi. We can all like different things and it should be valid. What is the problem? We are not all obliged to only love the players of our country. Please understand that this is football and everyone has their preferences and highlighting one does not mean burying the other. Enough, tired, hurts, ”he sentenced in his publication.
