The historic footballer of the Argentine national team, Carlos Tévez, started a new stage in his career in world football this Wednesday by being presented as the new technical director of Independiente of his country, a team with which he will seek to achieve great results in order to reach the Argentine Super League champion title.
During his official presentation, the new coach of Independiente considered that it will be a complicated job that he will have to do because the team is currently in the relegation zone, so he is focused on changing the game strategy so that they can add the points necessary to allow them to stay in the first division albiceleste.
“I know very well where I am going; there are thirteen finals. My last name is at stake. I feel capable of facing this challenge and I ask the squad for intensity”, expressed the ‘Apache’ during his press conference that was held at the Libertadores de América Stadium, in the town of Avellaneda (Buenos Aires province).
The former player of big clubs around the world such as Boca Juniors from Argentina and also an Olympic champion with his team in 2004, was part of a historic group of players from Albicelestes who achieved great titles throughout their careers; several of these trophies were the Conmebol Copa Libertadores and the UEFA Champions League with Manchester United.
“Surely Diego would shit on me, and then he would tell me what balls you have. From the way he was, I’m sure he would say that. But hey, whoever is afraid will not be born as my critical daughter says and that’s it, ”Tévez highlighted in his statements.
Currently, Independiente de Avellaneda, a team known as the ‘King of Cups’ for its seven wins in the Copa Libertadores, is going through a serious sports crisis that keeps them in relegation places to the second division and they are working from the team’s board to be able to change those results.
