Former President Donald Trump has returned to the social network Twitter, now known as X, from which he was expelled on January 9, 2021, through his account @realDonaldTrump.
The former president posted a link to his personal page, DONALDJTRUMP.COM, in which he wrote a public statement regarding his arrest in Georgia for allegedly trying to interfere in the results of the 2020 presidential election in that state.
“Today, in the notoriously violent Fulton County Jail, I was arrested despite not having committed a crime,” Trump said in the statement published on X.
“The American people know what is happening. What has happened is the travesty of justice and electoral interference. The left wants to intimidate you into not voting for a outsider politician who puts the American people first,” Trump continued.
The former president assured that today he “walked into the lion’s mouth” with a message for his movement, called “Make America Great Again” or MAGA, as it is known by its acronym in English: “I will never give up on our mission to save To united states”.
The announcement ends with a request for donations for his election campaign, which can range from $24 to $3,300. Likewise, he noted that if the reader of the statement is experiencing difficulties due to the “sinister people who control the country”, they should not think about donating their money.
Trump was expelled from Twitter after the company evaluated his posts and determined that they constituted “incitement to violence,” after what happened on January 6, 2021, a date known as the “Assault on the Capitol.” ”, when a group of protesters protested in the vicinity and inside the US Capitol.
At the time, the Twitter accounts for the President of the United States, @Potus, and the White House, @WhiteHouse, were not suspended, but their use was briefly limited.
One of the delivery conditions before the Georgia authorities agreed by former President Donald Trump this Thursday was the imposition of a $200,000 dollar bail. But that was not the only one. Other than bail, Trump was barred from any action that the judge could interpret as an effort to intimidate the other defendants in the case for alleged interference and manipulation of the 2020 election results in Georgia.
Judge Scott McAfee, from Fulton County, indicated Monday that this would include, but would not be limited to, postings “on social networks or sharing posts made by other individuals on social networks,” something that has raised questions among followers of Trump, since his taste for social networks is widely known.
