Recently, after the controversy over the kiss that Luis Rubiales gave to the Spanish team player Jenni Hermoso, the director of the Royal Spanish Football Federation came out to declare that the act was consensual.
However, this statement was denied by the Spanish player herself through a statement she issued this Friday. Where she also qualifies as a “macho” act what was done by Rubiales.
Faced with this situation, 81 players from the Spanish national team and several soccer clubs came out to support Hermoso. And Pachuca de México, a team in which the veteran midfielder plays, was not far behind and also issued a statement supporting her player.
“The arrival of Jennifer Hermoso, a player from Club Pachuca Femenil, represents one of the greatest joys in the sports history of our Institution. As one of the best soccer players of all time, she has shown exceptional leadership in the team, she is a benchmark for players of all categories, and an example for millions of girls and boys in our country”, begins the text that launched the club.
“Jenni has all the institutional, emotional and personal support of Grupo Pachuca at this very delicate moment in her life and career. We fully trust our athlete, our partner, our friend, our winner, our leader and our World Champion: an extraordinary woman. We will not leave you alone ”, closes the statement.
With these words, the Mexican club showed that it trusts Jenni’s word, which dared to deny what Rubiales said despite even receiving threats from the Spanish manager’s entourage.
Hermoso arrived at Pachuca in June 2022 from FC Barcelona, becoming a historic signing for Latin American women’s football. Well, Jenni is considered one of the best soccer players in recent years.
In her 16 years in the Spanish league, divided between Atlético de Madrid, Rayo Vallecano and FC Barcelona, Hermoso was the tournament’s top scorer on 4 occasions. In addition to winning 6 leagues, 4 Copa de la Reina, 1 Spanish Super Cup and a Champions League.
