An incident rocked Pensacola, Florida, when a young mother of twins tragically lost her life after being fatally shot seven times during an altercation outside a bar.
This past Wednesday morning, Tierra Binion, a 25-year-old mother of twins, met a tragic end when she was allegedly shot seven times outside a Mugs n’ Jugs bar in Pensacola.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office quickly arrested 25-year-old Christian Ketchup on a felony murder charge in connection with the shooting, the department reported.
The altercation that led to the fatal shooting reportedly involved multiple people. The victim and 23-year-old Rachel DeRise, identified as Ketchup’s girlfriend, according to WEAR News, got into a physical fight.
The dispute started within the confines of the bar, but escalated to the parking lot. Witnesses reported that Ketchup caught Binion by surprise, knocking her unconscious.
DeRise continued to physically assault the incapacitated victim, culminating in Ketchup allegedly firing seven shots, resulting in Binion’s tragic death.
On Thursday morning, DeRise was released on $15,000 bond, according to court records, Law & Crime reported.
Meanwhile, Ketchup remains jailed without bail, pending his next court date on September 13. The legal process is likely to develop further as the investigation continues.
Despite the circumstances, Binion’s sister, Diamond Johnson, expressed her disagreement with the negative comments surrounding her sister’s presence at the bar that night.
He stressed the importance of people being able to enjoy their free time responsibly and reiterated that Tierra was just having a good time with friends.
