Actress Priscilla Presley has denied rumors of a rift with Riley Keough following a legal battle over the estate of the late Lisa Marie.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Priscilla, 78, said she was never on bad terms with her granddaughter and it was just a scandal from the press.
“Riley and I get along well. We were never on bad terms. All of that was advertising. This is private and it’s not something to mess around with and say we don’t agree with it,” she said.
Riley Keough was named heir to her mother Lisa Marie Presley’s estate after a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge signed a ruling, leaving Priscilla Presley without power over the estate.
However, both reached an agreement, where Elvis’s widow will receive a very large amount of money from her granddaughters and will keep the Graceland Mansion.
“Riley is now the executor, which should be correct, obviously, being his daughter. We understand what needs to be done. I am there for her. She knows it. She wants her to be there to help her,” Priscilla added.
Riley Keough had already spoken on the subject saying that it did not detract from her grandmother’s efforts and understanding that the family legacy is important to her.
“There was a bit of turmoil, but now everything is going to be as before. She is a beautiful woman and she was a huge part of creating the legacy of my grandfather and Graceland. It is very important to her. He was the love of her life,” Keough, 34, told Vanity Fair.
