In the midst of the diaspora of footballers that is being experienced in Europe due to the million-dollar offers from Saudi Arabia, the Liverpool coach, Jürgen Klopp, has expressed his concern about the possible departure of his star player Mohamed Salah to the Middle East, something which qualifies as a “catastrophe”.
In an interview with ‘Sky Sports’ prior to the match between Newcastle and Liverpool this Sunday, Klopp, who has previously criticized what Saudi Arabia does with football, let it be known that he trusts Salah’s commitment to the ‘Reds’ ‘.
“Mo is a very experienced player and he is committed to being here, to being at this club,” said the technical director (DT), who was vital for the Egyptian striker to arrive at Anfield in 2017 from Roma.
Klopp recalled that he has asked several times to review what is happening with the departure of the players to Arab football and indicated that if at some point it is not possible to fight with that, it will be a real problem.
“When we cannot react, it is a catastrophe, it is the truth. That’s why I asked, several weeks ago, for the authorities to review this, because they can come and take the players away”, pointed out the German coach.
Liverpool has been one of the clubs most affected in the current transfer market and the exorbitant offers from Saudi football, and that is that part of their midfield last year went to that country, including former captain Jordan Henderson, Brazilian Fabinho, among others.
Saudi Arabia has signed a large part of the European soccer stars of last season, such as Karim Benzema, Neymar, N’Golo Kanté, Marcelo Brozovic, among others, but there are also those who prefer to remain among the soccer elite, such as Toni Kroos or Luka Modric.
