Another controversial kiss moment occurred this Saturday but in a sport other than football. In what was the victory of the Irish rider Sean Kirrane in the Coolmore Wootton Bassett Nunthorpe Stakes, held in York, England, a controversial moment occurred similar to the controversy generated after the kiss given to him by the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation ( RFEF) to the soccer player Jenni Hermoso after winning the Women’s Soccer World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The 23-year-old started as the leader and held onto the lead until the end of a race where he surprised everyone, including team owners Steve and Jolene De’Lemos.
Kirrane and her horse named Live In The Dream arrived at the award area where the team owners were excitedly waiting for them. When all the cameras of the event were focused on the rider, you can see how Jolene De’Lemos gives Kirrane a kiss on the mouth unexpectedly and with her close.
The born and raised in Dublin, the capital of Ireland, looked confused and gave an awkward smile as he enjoyed his victory. In the midst of the controversy in the case of Luis Rubiales and Jennifer Hermoso, the video quickly went viral on social networks.
Kirrane was paid around 353,000 euros (about $381,458) for his victory and assured ITV that he has not “assimilated the victory at all. I still feel like he won another race, but going over that line was quite the sensation in front of very serious horses.”
