Gian Marco premieres “Aún me Sigo Encontando”, the main theme of his new album and a song that he defines as “an answer to many questions that I have been asking myself now”; many reflections that came after being operated on for cancer four months ago.
“I didn’t feel well, I felt that something was wrong, and when I went to the doctor and the doctor told me ‘don’t go, let’s go inside! Quick, attack him fast!’; so it took me like, this is my fourth month, and here I am.”
The singer has taken it as an interesting life lesson.
“The first thing is to see how you organize life, with children and in the future, but then it’s like ‘ah, ok!, we’re going to pass this’; you plan, I have to put up with certain treatment issues and come on, you can’t have another option to fall or say ‘noooo, why did it happen to me!, why me! and regret.
“No, it’s not worth it, apart from that they are interesting life lessons. It’s like God says to you ‘Ehhh, ehhh!’
What did you change as a result of the disease?
The question will always be from that moment on, which I asked myself at the clinic: How do I want to live my life from now on? As the beginning of the song says, ‘look deep within’, with all that that implies. It’s not just saying ‘oh yeah, because this sentence says the following I’m going to live my life from now on’m and you go out for a drive and bitch at everyone. No, genuinely how I want to live my life from now on.
And what are the most important changes you have made…
Never in my life take anything for granted. Having deep conversations, learning to have uncomfortable conversations, there is no other way, you can’t keep pushing things that don’t make sense under the rug.
“Never blame anyone, and when there is either anger or guilt, you have to look deep within with all that that implies. And heal, it’s worth healing, you have to do the work, those who want therapy, go to therapy, hug each other!”
