Although former President Donald Trump and Fox Corp., the parent company of Fox News, once had a good relationship, that time has been completely buried. And one of the last nails in that coffin was recently driven by Trump, who accused Murdoch of being a “globalist” who has attacked him with negative coverage. This was reported by the news portal The Hill.

“Fox News and the Wall Street Journal attack me because Murdoch is a globalist,” Trump said in a short video posted on the Truth Social social network (which he owns) on Wednesday, August 30.

Trump further added that he “represented America first.”

“I represent the United States first. It is very simple, and it will always be so, so get used to it,” said the former Republican president.

According to The Hill portal, Trump has repeatedly accused Fox, specifically, and Murdoch, in general, of trying to push presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, to become the Republican nominee for the year’s election. 2024.

In the video, Trump, who is leading the polls by double-digits over DeSantis and the rest of the Republican primary field, celebrated that the Florida governor was “a Murdoch pick” who has “dropped like a badly wounded bird from the sky.” darling”.

“DeSanctimonius (Trump jokingly refers to Ron DeSantis), by the way, is finished. He was the one chosen by Murdoch, just like Jeb Bush was chosen by Murdoch. How did that turn out? Exactly like Hillary Clinton,” Trump said.

Trump also took issue with The Wall Street Journal, another Murdoch-owned publication that has been increasingly critical of him, saying the bastion of financial news and conservative opinion commentary had “totally lost its way.”

“The Wall Street Journal has totally lost its way. They pushed DeSanctimonius very hard, and now they are looking for someone else because he failed,” Trump said.

Trump did not attend the first debate of the Republican primary last week, a decision he says he made in part because of the “hostile” relationship he has with Fox and Murdoch. Instead, the former president participated in an interview with former Fox host Tucker Carlson, which aired at the same time the Republican debate was taking place.
