Former footballer Harry Redknapp and his wife Sandra Redknapp have a grand plan in mind for their property in Sandbanks, Dorset, on England’s south coast, but all their plans depend on local authorities.
According to information shared by the British newspaper ‘The Sun’, the couple and their work team have already demolished the original structure of the place, but they have not yet been able to start the new project.
Construction hasn’t been able to start because they need council permits, but it seems that the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole council authorities are not happy with the materials and other things that the team of architects are raising.
Apparently the Anders Roberts Cheer team does not want to accept the suggestions for materials given by the council, as it breaks with the style of house they want to build. The main inspiration for the design is Italian houses and, on the other hand, the authorities say that it is best to use wood in the windows and doors.
‘The Sun’ also published statements given by Redknapp’s neighbors. One of them says: “The proposed building is overwhelming. I’m afraid it feels oppressive. The quiet enjoyment of our garden would be seriously affected by the windows in the new south-west wing. The addition of several windows on the ground and first floors…would have a major impact on our privacy.”
They all agree that the project is not designed to take care of the privacy and dependency of the houses that are next to the sides.
The media have had access to the plans for the site and share some of the things they want to be incorporated into the house: four balconies, a grand foyer, five bedrooms, a boathouse and more.
At the moment, it remains to wait for the representatives of the former soccer player and the local authorities to arrive, who, as always, must take into account the comments of all the neighbors.
