The new SNAP amounts
A household with one person will receive $291; for two members, the amount to receive will be $535 dollars per month.
In other words, the amounts to be delivered will also depend on the size of each household, for one with four people, the payment will be $973 dollars; while for one of six, the benefit rises to $1,386 dollars.
For a household of eight members, the payment as of October 1 will be $1,751 dollars per month.
For each additional member, SNAP will award $219 per month.
These amounts apply to the 48 states and the District of Columbia, since Alaska and Hawaii have other figures.
As for the beneficiaries in Alaska, the maximum benefits will be between $1,248 and $1,937 dollars.
Beneficiary families can purchase raw food with the resources they receive from SNAP coupons.
The increase is due to the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) and that applies to SNAP, so beneficiaries will see their increases reflected in the next deposit on their EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) cards, which is accepted in supermarkets and USDA-approved stores.
