FC Barcelona achieved a complicated but important victory this Sunday by 2-1 against Osasuna, however, the coach Xavi Hernandez was self-critical, letting it be known that they still have things to improve, but stressed that the final objective was achieved, which was the victory of visitor.

“We must demand more of ourselves in the game. We dominated it many times, but we have to generate”, said the Catalan coach about this Sunday’s match that was defined by a controversial penalty generated and taken by striker Robert Lewandowski.

“You can’t always play excellent football. You have to play without the ball, suffer… the team has given up, they have done a spectacular job. Many facets have been mastered in many moments of the game, but more must be generated, ”he added about the game against Osasuna.

In this sense, he valued the performance of the arbitration quartet as positive, letting it be known that, in his opinion, they had all done a good job. “The referee has been 10. Above all, the fourth. He talked, he has not been nervous at any time. He communicated what was happening, he calmed us down. If the referee comes to you nervous and does not help with tension, he does not generate anything, ”he said.

On the other hand, he reiterated that the team is improving as the games go by and recalled the match the previous date at the La Cerámica stadium where they turned the score around. “The second half against Villarreal was brilliant. We know the path, the idea and the players are clear about it, ”he specified.

Meanwhile, Xavi referred to the debut of the Portuguese Joao Félix and Joao Cancelo, who arrived this week from Atlético de Madrid and Manchester City, respectively.

“They have been very supportive. They have worked for the team and this is the base that is non-negotiable for us, ”he said about the new reinforcements.
