The New York Yankees’ Dominican prospect, Jasson Domínguez, continues to be the sensation in the Mules’ dugout and this Sunday he helped achieve the sweep in the series played at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
With a gruesome two-run homer, Dominguez gave the Yankees the lead in the sixth inning, which would ultimately lead them to their third straight win in the series and sixth in the last seven games.
The Hispanic outfielder had already been in the spotlight on his debut day last Friday by also hitting a two-run homer off future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander.
Along with Domínguez, another who had a great role this Sunday was the Venezuelan second baseman Gleyber Torres.
The talented ballplayer from the Bronx hit a board in the ninth episode, his number 24 of the 2023 season, to give his team the last little stripe.
The victory not only represented a respite for some Yankees who, although they have few qualifying options, are still in the search for the postseason, but also brought with it a statistic that had not been seen in the last 10 years.
With the series win, the Yankees earned their first sweep of Houston since 2013.
