There is no doubt that part of happiness consists in sharing the good things that life gives us with others, be it with our family or friends, but also with those who need it most.
That was the decision made by a British couple, who recently won an important lottery prize and caused surprise and became news after indicating that they would invest a large part of the prize in making bedrooms in the garage of their home in order to give them asylum. to children who, unfortunately, are in a street situation.
Mark and Kathleen Reece, about 40 years old, are already in a consolidated marriage and are the parents of 3 children. At the beginning of her relationship, it did not seem to her that her husband Mark invested some money every week in the Euromillions lottery game, because she was convinced that he would never win anything important.
But a few days ago, he asked Kathleen to check the result of his lottery ticket draw while he went out to run an errand. The woman, along with her daughter, checked the ticket on the website, discovering that Mark had won a prize equivalent to $125,000.
“I decided to call the number on the back of the ticket and was talking to a lady from the National Lottery when Mark came home with the milk. I told her to shut up because she was on the phone with the National Lottery. He gasped. He looked at me in disbelief, so I put speakerphone on the phone and the lady confirmed that we had won,” Kathleen recalled.
Regarding how they will allocate their earnings, he explained: “I always wanted to raise children in foster care. Mark and I have talked about it for many years until we had our own. My 3 children will be leaving home soon and I have a lot of love to give. I’ve always wanted to host, however having enough space has always been a problem. Thanks to the victory it will no longer be a problem. I am very happy that we can finally fulfill our dream.”
