The Spanish Sergio Ramos arrived this Monday morning in Seville, the capital of Andalusia, Spain, to sign a contract with Sevilla FC, the club that formed the defender and to which he returns after 18 years.

The defender signed a contract as a free agent until next season after ending the one he had with Paris Saint-Germain. Sergio Ramos declared to the club’s media that he had “a debt” that he owed to his father, to his grandfather “who made me a Sevilla supporter from a young age”, “to Sevilla” and to the late “Antonio Puerta”. .

For its part, the Andalusian club announced on its website: “Sevilla FC and Sergio Ramos have reached an agreement to join the Sevilla squad. It is about the return of the youth squad center-back, who returns home almost two decades after leaving, at just 19 years old, bound for Real Madrid”.

The 37-year-old defender passed the medical examination and was presented on the club’s networks. Ramos said he was “looking forward to getting into the dynamics with his teammates” upon his arrival in Seville.

In this way, Sergio Ramos ruled out joining Al Ittihad from Saudi Arabia and will fulfill his wish to retire at Sevilla, a team that according to the defender himself took his “little time” to formalize the proposal, for which he is “happy and excited” for this outcome.
