An 81-year-old man was stabbed to death and two more men were injured inside a home in Staten Island (NYC) yesterday afternoon.

The victims were attacked inside a home on Sunnyside Terrace in the Grymes Hill neighborhood just before 4:30 p.m. Friday.

It is not clear what the motive for the attack was, but police suspect it was due to a dispute between neighbors, according to DailyNews.

An 81-year-old man died at the scene with multiple injuries to his neck and the rest of his body. Two other male victims, ages 78 and 51, were taken to Richmond University Medical Center. The oldest of the injured was reported in serious condition and the youngest in stable condition with injuries to one hand, he detailed. ABCNews.

A 57-year-old suspect was arrested. The names of those involved were not released by the NYPD.

Domestic violence is common in New York and Jersey, between couples, relatives, neighbors and roommates.

After being sought for six months, this month a man was arrested on suspicion of shooting his roommate to death in the apartment they shared in Harlem (NYC), in an apparent argument over a soda.

In August, a mother was attacked with a hammer by her roommate, who left her two children seriously injured in Brooklyn (NYC). Days earlier, a 57-year-old man who was left in a coma several weeks after being punched by a neighbor and falling on Staten Island (NYC), died from his injuries.

In July, a patient trying to recover at a drug rehabilitation center in the Bronx (NYC) died 11 days after his roommate hit him while he slept.

In June, Terrence González died at the age of 31 in a New York prison where he was serving a sentence for fatally shooting his neighbor Lateef Butler in Yonkers.

In May, a man was arrested on suspicion of having slit the throat of another inside his apartment in Inwood (Upper Manhattan, NYC). In April, a 62-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing his roommate in Brooklyn. Also that month, a suspect turned himself in to the police as allegedly responsible for shooting his neighbor in the Bronx. Another man died upon returning home after spending 11 days hospitalized after being stabbed by his Hispanic neighbor in that same county.

In March, a woman stabbed her neighbor, a 27-year-old father of two, to death during an alleged argument over noise in a building in the Bronx. At the end of January, a 62-year-old man was murdered in his apartment in the Bronx and his Latino roommate was arrested as a suspect.

In December, a 46-year-old ex-convict turned himself in to police on suspicion of fatally shooting his neighbor in the middle of a long argument over the noise he was making in his Bronx residence. Also that month, a 27-year-old model was stabbed to death by her roommate at a shelter in Midtown Manhattan because she was apparently listening to loud music.
