Venezuelan Yangel Herrera scored a great goal in the match between Girona and Mallorca for the sixth round of LaLiga EA Sports. The Catalan team won the match with a score of 5-3, this being their fifth victory this season in Spain’s first division, placing them in first place waiting for the matches between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The La Vinotinto midfielder took advantage of a rebound after a rebound from the Balearic defense and with a powerful right cross hit the ball into the goal defended by Rajkovic.
Herrera has three goals in his first six LaLiga games, which seems to have him motivated ahead of the South American qualifiers, where he will surely see action during the matches against Brazil and Chile in mid-October.
Mallorca, led by Mexican Javier Aguirre, managed to hit first thanks to a clear handball from Tsygankov, so the referee ruled the kick from the penalty spot and Vedat Muriqi scored the first goal of the match.
However, the reaction of the Catalan team was overwhelming and David López, Artem Dovbyk and Iván Martín scored three goals in 10 minutes of a first half that ended with the goal of Venezuelan Yangel Herrera, who made it 4-1 in the 45th minute.
Sávio Moreira was in charge of scoring the fifth goal at the beginning of the second half while Abdón Prats tried to rescue some honor from Mallorca’s result with two goals at the end of the game, with a right hand in the 88th minute and a header at 95.
Girona has added 16 points out of a possible 18 and has scored 16 goals in six games.
