Former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher stated that the Mexican driver, Sergio Pérez will leave Red Bull at the end of this season.

Schumacher also explained that the Mexican has no future in the energy drinks team. Pérez’s future with Red Bull has been in debate among fans and experts for a long time due to his lack of consistency.

“I think the answer is relatively clear. I mean, even this weekend, I think for me, the Perez issue at the end of the season is resolved. I think he knows it himself,” Schumacher said.

Schumacher believes that Pérez’s natural replacement at Red Bull would be Daniel Ricciardo and described it as the “simplest and most logical solution. For me, Ricciardo being at Red Bull next year is the simplest and most logical decision.”

Ricciardo was also rumored to occupy a place in Toro Rosso, a team for which he was a reserve even in 2023 and with which he has also already turned in the race. In addition, he also has an important past at Red Bull where he even achieved triumphs and with Verstappen himself as his teammate.

Liam Lawson would thus keep his seat at AlphaTauri, where he is having very good races: “Marko is lucky that Liam Lawson is doing a great job. He has been thrown in the deep end and has consistently delivered.”

“He made no mistakes on the challenging Singapore circuit and scored points. So, in that sense, I can imagine that he will be confirmed for next year at AlphaTauri, alongside Tsunoda”, expresses Michael Schumacher’s brother.

Schumacher believes that Toro Rosso can stay for 2024 with the lineup it currently has: the Japanese Yuki Tsunoda and the New Zealander Liam Lawson, the latter with a positive image in his first appearances in the so-called ‘Big Circus’.

It should be noted that Checo Pérez has a contract with Red Bull until the end of the 2024 season; However, the parties can break the agreement previously, as stipulated in the aforementioned bond that occurred in the middle of last season.
