Juventus is not going through its best sporting moment. After learning of the provisional suspension for doping investigation of Frenchman Paul Pogba, the team now fell 4-2 against Sassuolo on matchday 5 of Italian football, where one of the worst own goals of 2023 stood out.
The match was complicated for Juventus throughout the match, being forced to come back after going down on the scoreboard on two occasions to try to find victory, but despite the effort, said goal against ended up making them give up.
After being down again on the scoreboard 3-2 at the 81st minute due to a goal from Andrea Pinamonti, Juventus turned to the attack in search of a tie again but it was only five minutes that a new comeback attempt lasted thanks to the ‘ disaster’ between goalkeeper Szczesny and center back Gatti.
During a stopped ball and with the need, Gatti took a free kick for Szczesny and the goalkeeper returned the ball to the Italian; However, instead of going out with the winger he returned once again to the Pole who was out of position.
As they were not covering the three sticks, the ball entered in a gentle and unobstructed manner to declare the victory of the locals and destroy Juventus’ entire match-long effort to get the three points.
