The American Usher will be in charge of making the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show vibrate. As announced by the National Football League (NFL) this Sunday, the singer, producer and composer will be the one who will host the final show of the American football season at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on February 11, 2024.
“It is the honor of my life to add an exhibition in the Super Bowl to my list of dreams. I’m looking forward to putting on a show unlike anything you’ve seen from me before. Thank you to my fans and everyone who made this opportunity possible,” Usher said in statements to the NFL press team.
As an announcement on behalf of the NFL, the eight-time Grammy winner appeared in a video interacting with former wide receiver and Super Bowl winner Deion Sanders and socialite Kim Kardashian.
Defined by the NFL itself as “one of the most influential of his generation,” Usher will take the baton from Rihanna, who performed at the 2023 Super Bowl.
Usher, born in Dallas, Texas, in 1978, has sold more than 80 million records in his career, establishing himself as a global star, being a singer, dancer and later a businessman.
Rihanna (2023), Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar (2022), The Weeknd (2021), Jennifer López and Shakira (2020), Maroon 5 (2019), Justin Timberlake (2018), Lady Gaga (2017), Coldplay (2016), Katy Perry (2015), Bruno Mars (2014) and Beyoncé (2013) have been the last 10 Super Bowl halftime performances.
