The controversy generated during the summer between Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), seems to have been left behind, and the club’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has once again praised his star player and has asked that he be award the Ballon d’Or for which he is nominated along with Leo Messi and Erling Haaland.

In an extensive press conference prior to the classic between PSG and Olympique de Marseille, the president of the Parisian team stated that Mbappé is the best player in the world currently and let it be known that the summer problems were “resolved as a family.”

“We have the best player in the world (Mbappé) and, in my opinion, he deserves the Ballon d’Or (…) The problems we had stayed in the family and Kylian is part of that family. “I am proud of what he does, and what the entire team does,” stated Al-Khelaifi.

Beyond stating that the problems have been solved, the Parc des Princes boss did not dare to confirm whether the French striker will renew his contract for the coming seasons.

President of PSG downplayed Messi’s statements

On the other hand, Al-Khelaifi downplayed the Argentine Leo Messi’s statements in his most recent interview, that he was the only world champion who was not honored in his club and explained that he was recognized privately for respect to France.

“We held a celebration for him in training (as soon as we returned from Qatar), also in private, but it was delicate to do something in the stadium. We must respect the country that he defeated (France), his colleagues who play in the national team and our fans,” he pointed out.
