Ricardo Salinas Pliego, the Mexican businessman who owns TV Azteca, Elektra and Banco Azteca, among other companies, is going viral because true to his style, he likes to show that he has a lot of money and blames it whenever he can.
The third richest man in Mexico, with $13.9 billion, according to Forbes, is now giving away various expensive items to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of TV Azteca, his television company.
On this occasion Salinas Pliego is causing controversy because a viewer from Monterrey participated in the raffle and won a luxurious Alfa Romero truck, Tonale model, just for registering and being chosen by luck to take it.
To testify to the delivery of the truck, TV Azteca hosts broadcast it in a video in which they show the winner, who says he feels very happy and grateful to “Uncle Richie.”
However, the millionaire owner of TV Azteca was not satisfied with the winner’s thanks, because on his X account, @RicardoB Salinas, he wrote:
“Yesterday I sent the truck to Roberto to Monterrey… although he didn’t look very happy, could it be that we had given it to someone who would make him happier?
If you don’t like my gifts, return them to give them to someone else, I want Mexicans to feel happy and get out of misery and the conformist thinking of having little.”
The businessman does not say how he would have liked the winner to celebrate or what he should do to be pleased, but he made it clear that he is a man of money, with power and that he must be obeyed.
Ricardo Salinas Pliego likes to get involved in discussions about X, he usually answers bluntly and rudely to always make it clear that he has a lot of money.
Another follower of his account asked him if he would give away another truck, to which the tycoon replied:
“It depends on whether I feel like it… my money, my rules.”
