The president of LaLiga of Spain, Javier Tebas, assured this Monday that he feels quite confident about the arrival of the French striker from Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Kylian Mbappé, to Iberian football for the 2024 season due to the great wishes of the figure to be part of Real Madrid.
During an interview offered for Movistar Plus+, the manager explained that he is “more than 70 or 80%” sure that Kylian Mbappé will be able to be part of the championship for the next season and thus have one of the most important figures in football. world in recent years.
“Convinced, convinced, no. But it is a destiny for him, for sure. I think that next year it will be more than 70 or 80%,” said Tebas when asked if he believes that Mbappé will be able to play next season in Spain in order to make the tournament more attractive.
During the interview, the president of LaLiga also showed himself willing to broadcast the conversations between the VAR and the referees so that there is full confidence in each of the decisions that both parties can make in the matches and thus avoid criticism from the teams and especially from the fans.
“Even though it is a delayed broadcast, I am a supporter. We will order it again. Also, at the end of the match, a referee dedicates a minute to the commentators. It depends on Luis Medina Cantalejo (president of the Technical Committee of Referees) and the Federation,” he highlighted.
Regarding the relationship he has with the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, Tebas admitted that there is no possibility of reconciliation “because it is a cultural issue.”
“There is a very abysmal difference in what we think of European professional football. There is no possibility of agreement if we have to accept, on my part and that of the majority of the clubs in the Spanish league, that the big clubs are the ones that have to determine the destiny, the future, the distribution of the money of the football industry. European football,” he added.
“Not detecting certain problems that Spanish football had with racism previously. I believe that these incidents regarding the Vinicius issue… We were working on it, but possibly we should have detected it. And what we are doing this season, having done it before, having done that work,” the president concluded.
