Liverpool started their performance in the Carabao Cup in England on the right foot this Wednesday by beating Leicester City 3-1, in a match where the Reds’ new signing, Dominik Szoboszlai, stood out by scoring a great goal that took everyone the reflectors.

As usual, Liverpool had to come back once again after a goal from Kasey McAteer (3′) became the fourth game this season for Liverpool where they received an early score.

However, a solitary goal from Cody Gakpo, who pivoted a ball, turned and scored at will, ended up paving the way for Szoboszlai to become the hero of the night.

With a Leicester that defended with everything and sought to tie the tie against Liverpool, it began to be difficult for them to enter the area and create chances, but Szoboszlai took advantage of this to use his best card: the shot from outside the area.

Upon receiving near the crescent and without rivals, Szoboszlai took an impressive shot in the 70th minute that went directly into the rival goalkeeper’s corner, and later went straight to celebrate with all the fans present at Anfield.

As a curiosity, the great goal that Szoboszlai scored to make it 2-1 was not the only one because near the end, at 88′, the Portuguese Diogo Jota completed the victory with a back-heel goal by anticipating the local Leicester defenders.

Now Liverpool are ready for the fourth phase of the Carabao Cup in which they will face AFC Bournemouth who beat Stoke City 2-0 also on Wednesday.
