After the publication of a video on TikTok by Napoli, about Victor Osimhen, where they seemed to make fun of the player. The forward deleted from his social media profiles all the photos of him in which he appears with the southern team’s shirt.
After the controversy, Napoli published a statement in this regard. In it, the Italian club assures that it had no intention of offending the Nigerian player, who is considering taking legal action for some TikTok videos that he did not like.
“Calcio Napoli, to avoid any exploitation on the subject, specifies that it never had the intention of offending or mocking Victor Osimhen, the club’s technical asset,” the institution explains at the beginning of the written message.
“To prove it, during the summer, the club firmly rejected all offers received for the attacker’s transfer abroad,” he continues.
Surprisingly, Napoli did not apologize and justified the facts as follows: “It is known that on social networks, in particular on TikTok, expressive language has always been created with lightness and creativity, without having, in the case of Osimhen , no intention to ridicule or mock.”
Finally, the current Serie A champion expressed that “if Víctor had perceived any offense towards him, it was beyond any will of the club.”
What happened between Víctor Osimhen and Napoli?
It is inexplicable what Napoli did with their star striker, Victor Osimhen, a figure in the last Scudetto. What happened? He published a video on Tik Tok in which he mocked the Nigerian for having missed a penalty against Bologna. That wasn’t all: after that clip, they published another edited one comparing the scorer’s haircut to a coconut.
The footballer’s representative, Roberto Calenda, announced that he accuses the club of “causing very serious harm to the player” and that they reserve “the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”
“A serious incident that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news,” added the Calenda note.
“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. First, a video mocking Víctor was made public and then, although belatedly, deleted,” said Calenda.
Victor Osimhen, 24, contributed 62 goals in 107 games for Napoli. In the match against Bologna he was replaced and got annoyed with coach Rudi Garcia.
