Tom Brady is without a doubt one of the most iconic athletes in history, considered by experts to be the best player of all time in the NFL, especially for what he did with the New England Patriots for two decades, a relationship that has inspired production of a television series called ‘The Patriot Way’.

As explained by the writers of this series, Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson, the objective is for American football fans to be able to remember and/or learn about the great feats carried out by the Patriots led by Brady between 2000 and 2019.

“The New England Patriots dominated the sports landscape for 20 years. “Our series will take audiences inside Gillette Stadium to shed new light on the Pats’ exciting and historic victories, the dark side of success, and how a culture of winning at all costs was built,” commented the writers of this project. .

Expectations with this production are high and part of this has to do with the experience that Tamasy and Johnson have in telling sports stories. An example of this is the fact that they were nominated for an Oscar for the 2010 film ‘El Peleador’, starring Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale.

It should be noted that this series will be based on the book ’12: Inside the Story of Tom Brady’s Fight for Redemption’, written by Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge, published in 2018.

Tom Brady, a story worthy of being brought to the big screen

Tom Brady came to the NFL after being selected by New England in the 1999 NFL Draft. Expectations were not very high with him since he was chosen in the 199th round, however, he showed that the ranking does not determine what can achieve and ended up becoming the best player in the history of American football.

The quarterback had a 23-year career, of which 20 were with the ‘Pats’ and three with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, during which time he won the Super Bowl seven times, six with the first organization and one with the second, respectively.

The Brady-Belichick matchup will also be addressed

As in any success story, this audiovisual will also tell fragments of the tense confrontations that Brady had with the ‘Pats’ coach Bill Belichick.

“As journalists, we had a front-row seat to see all the incredible drama that unfolded before and after the New England Patriots won their first Super Bowl in 2001,” Sherman and Wedge, authors of the book, told Deadline. , who will collaborate with Tamasy and Johnson.

This will be the third joint effort between screenwriters Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson, and writers Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge, who previously worked on the adaptation of the Disney film ‘The Finest Hours’ and the film ‘Patriots’. Day’ (Patriots’ Day).
