Although today she has a successful career, Ana Bárbara reveals that her beginnings in music were somewhat bumpy, especially when she traveled to Italy years ago and met the then Pope, John Paul II.
In an interview for Juanpa Zurita’s podcast, the singer recalled an occasion when she represented Mexico in the Vatican and had the opportunity to witness a mass of the Supreme Pontiff, which she interrupted by singing a song.
“I was with the other people with whom I was sitting very well listening to John Paul II and in a moment that I didn’t think twice about I stopped and started singing. The papal guards came out to take the crazy girl out of the church and when they were getting closer the Pope made a sign with his hand to let me finish,” said Ana Bárbara.
To finish her anecdote, the “Bandido” singer revealed that, at the end of the mass, the Pope gave her his blessing and gave her a rosary, but the odyssey did not end there, since Valentina Alazraki, the pontiff’s correspondent, interviewed her.
Ana Bárbara’s latest scandal
The Mexican singer has been the protagonist of several news stories in recent weeks, due to the legal actions that her brother took against her.
In front of the “Ventaneando” cameras, the woman from Potosí assured that she does not give importance to this situation and that she is willing to defend her songs tooth and nail, because she knows that Francisco Ugalde does not have the evidence to prove what he demands.
“It has always been unfortunate to have to deal with a media issue of downcast people since last year. Unfortunate moments and situations hit you, because I am not a stickler, but I also believe in the law of cause and effect, and it is clear to me that things are falling under their own weight, it is worth clarifying, my songs are my songs and I have nothing more to prove,” said Ana Bárbara.
In other topics, the “Lo Busqué” singer indicated that she feels very excited about the start of her new tour called “Bandidos Tour”, which will begin tomorrow in the United States and will later arrive in the Mexican Republic.
