FC Barcelona assumed the lead in the league in Spain after beating Sevilla one goal to zero, both scored thanks to nothing less than a goal against Sergio Ramos, emblem of Real Madrid for years.
Ramos, 37, took a ball in the area, after a header from Lamine Yamal, and scored the only goal of the game in the 76th minute of a match that was very even.
The curious thing is that the former PSG had anticipated in the week that he had a special celebration prepared if he scored against the Catalan team, but he ended up scoring in his own goal.
With this victory, Barcelona helped the Catalans overtake Girona at the top of the table, and their neighbors will host third-place Real Madrid on Saturday. “It’s an important victory for us, we deserved it from start to finish,” said midfielder Gavi.
And he analyzed: “We had clear opportunities in the first half to calmly reach the break… but (in the end) we won.”
An image from 2016 went viral on social networks, when Ramos was defending the colors of Real Madrid and entered a classic with Lamine Yamal, today a player for the Blaugrana team, who at the age of 9 had to accompany the players of that time as well as several children from the Blaugrana quarry. The weather meant that this Friday they were rivals and protagonists of the goal.
“It was a very close game, what we expected it to be, and we had a lot of opportunities,” Ivan Rakitic said.
The next date, the Andalusian team will host Rayo Vallecano, while Barcelona will face Granada, one of the worst at the start of the championship.
