“Vuelve a Mí” is the new Telemundo soap opera starring William Levy and Samadhi Zendejas. Great actors such as Rodolfo Salas and Geraldine Galván also participate alongside them, whose characters will give something to talk about from the first moment they appear on the small screen.
He is Fausto and she is Consuelo. Together they will tell us an intense story where we will face two characters with real, dramatic nuances, with problems, fears and severe consequences. They will undoubtedly be the perfect representation of a toxic couple that goes beyond any joke or joke that arises on social networks. The violence that they will expose us to will largely serve to create real alarms in all those viewers who may feel exemplified.
In the interview, Geraldine Galván tells us that the kidnapping of Andrés, her nephew, occurs when she is in her care. “Unfortunately, it is Consuelo who is taken away from Andrés and he begins to live this whole search, this whole process that is so strong, but so true at this time in the world,” explains Galván.
“I think that our project is characterized by this type of theme, we are telling very true stories that are happening second by second and we also want to bring them to your screens to raise awareness, to let people know everything we are going through.”
About her character, Geraldine adds that she represents a woman who is psychologically and physically abused. “For me it is very important that with this type of characters, people who are going through this in their lives feel identified and can know that they are not alone and can see the problem from the outside.”
Galván reflects that this exercise can be useful to many, because sometimes when one is inside the problem it is very difficult to see everything from a clearer perspective, especially when it comes to issues of violence that sometimes tend to be so normalized in some spheres. and regions of Latin America and even in some cultures.
The actress is right when she says that in this type of toxic relationships one reaches a point of justifying many things due to the erroneous understanding one has of love. “You don’t know how to react or how to identify a narcissistic person,” says Galván, for whom raising your voice and showing that you can and should ask for help is of utmost importance.
Who is Faust?
Fausto is a man who exceeds all legal limits. The darkness of this manages to overshadow and torment a woman like Consuelo, who in this drama is the sister of Nuria, Zendejas’ character.
Rodolfo Salas describes his character as “a neighborhood thug, skillful, manipulative, charming.” “You think you know them all and if not, you know them all plus one. “He’s a great character!” he explains with a laugh.
During the conversation it was highlighted that it is difficult to say no to a man with the face of Faust, since in this story we are dealing with a man who knows that he is handsome and who also believes that he can do anything he wants. Taking comfort in his innocence and naivety, he seems to have no weapons against a man like him.
As an actor Rodolfo Salas recognizes the opportunity he has in front of a character like this. As a man in real life his appearance has nothing to do with that of a thug, but as an actor that is the true challenge and richness of it. “It is very complicated and has many nuances,” says Salas. Who clarifies that it is not just about being a simple bad guy, a simple villain. “Being mean to Consuelo, people will wonder, ‘Well, if he’s so bad, why is Consuelo with him?’ Well, Fausto involves and manipulates her… and this happens in real life.”
“A lot of people are involved in this and don’t know it. It is so difficult, I think, to get out of this type of relationship that even Consuelo herself is involved in this, which even puts her nephew at risk,” Rodolfo explained.
The actor’s accompaniment
During the interview, having reached the point of understanding the nuances of Fausto and Consuelo, we came across the tremendous work they do as actors to get into characters that go so contrary to what they are in real life.
Fausto is an abuser, he is a man who exercises violence against women without any compassion and Consuelo is a woman who has trapped herself in a toxic relationship in which she does not even know how she entered and now much less knows how to get out. At this point, the actors talked to us about how they managed to cope with the dramatic and emotional burden of their characters.
Geraldine Galván assures that after several hours of intense and tense recordings, she attended boxing and yoga classes, because her body had a hard time understanding all the overwhelming emotions she was subjecting herself to; She sometimes spent crying for 12 hours in character in scenes.
Rodolfo assures that the dialogues between the couple were also very hard to endure, because from the first scene they began with this dramatic load. However, he adds that one of the reasons that allowed him to work this character so well was because of the support and chemistry that he found in his partner, Geraldine Galván. He points out that without her help she would not have been able to do so since in fact there is a lot of violence.
