There is almost a month left until the Mexican Grand Prix takes place and the driver Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez is already thinking about what this competition will be like where he will seek to seal victory at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City and thus be able to finish with the criticism that has arisen against him this season.
During an interview with the De Limburger media, the native of the state of Jalisco revealed that he has two goals for the remainder of the season in the premier category of motorsports and one of them is precisely to be able to win the Mexican Grand Prix.
An interesting fact is that Checo Pérez refused to receive support from his teammate and current leader of the Formula 1 world championship, Max Verstappen; He assured that this would not generate the same feeling considering that he did not win due to his performance in the competition.
“In addition to becoming world champion, my biggest dream is a victory in Mexico, that would mean everything to me. That victory would mean nothing to me if I ask Max Verstappen for help, I want to achieve it myself,” Pérez highlighted in his statements.
The pilot from Guadalajara also explained that the next few weeks will be quite complicated and hectic for all runners due to what happens off the tracks; Despite this, he seemed focused on being able to have the best performances he could to continue adding points and stay on the podium.
“The race at home and the GP in Austin, a week before, represent a lot of wear and tear. There are many things to attend to off the court. But as soon as I close my visor, my attention is focused on the race. So I will do everything I can to win in Mexico,” added the Mexican.
