Viva Aerobus, the Mexican low-cost airline, announced new routes to the United States for next year, after Mexico recovered category 1 in air safety.
There are six routes operated from Monterrey International Airport to the United States, including the cities of Austin, Denver, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Orlando.
Monterrey–Denver will begin operations on January 25, 2024 with two flights a week; service to Austin, on March 22 with four frequencies a week; The route to Orlando will begin on May 9 with three flights a week; and services to Miami and San Francisco (Oakland) will begin on July 1 with three and two weekly frequencies, respectively. The details of Monterrey – New York will be announced soon.
Tickets to fly on these new routes will start at $65 for a single trip plus payment for the Airport Use Fee (TUA).
In this way, Viva Aerobus says it is responding to the growing demand in the most dynamic air market between two countries. According to information from the Ministry of Tourism, air tickets of tourists from the United States represent 63% of the total number of foreigners arriving in Mexico on flights.
“We celebrate the return to Category 1 thanks to the commitment of the authorities and collaborative work at the industry level, which also resulted in the strengthening of air safety, professionalization of the sector and regulation,” highlighted Juan Carlos Zuazua, general director of Viva Aerobus. .
“This is excellent news for Mexican airlines, since we will be able to expand our offer and connectivity to the United States, the largest international passenger market in the world between two nations. Thus, passengers will greatly benefit from having more options that offer low prices, point-to-point flights and new planes, just as we do at Viva,” added Zuazua.
