Real Madrid is ranked first in LaLiga EA Sports after beating Girona 3-0 this Saturday, in what was the seventh round of the first division of Spanish football. With goals from Joselu, Tchouaméni and Bellingham, Madrid ended the Catalan team’s winning streak.

Joselu Mato was in charge of opening the scoring in the 17th minute thanks to a play started by Englishman Jude Bellingham, who sent a cross to the far post, where Joselu arrived. Frenchman Aurélien Tchouaméni extended the lead in the 21st minute thanks to a header, assisted by a corner kick from Toni Kroos, which left goalkeeper Gazzaniga with no options.

The Catalan team coached by Míchel Sánchez was a surprise and had the chance to take the lead at the start of the match with two very clear chances from Yangel Herrera and Viktor Tsygankov, but Madrid’s effectiveness was noticeable in the first two arrivals on goal, first Joselu and shortly after Tchouaméni.

Already in the second half, Girona regained its morale with a couple of chances from Eric García at minute 50 and Yangel Herrera at minute 55, but the white club showed its greatness and began to attack a Girona that could not find depth when having possession of the ball.

England’s Jude Bellingham sealed the match after a great counterattack. Joselu was the one who attempted the shot in the first instance that Gazzaniga ended up stopping, but on the rebound Bellingham did not forgive, crossing the ball and closing the match with at least 20 minutes remaining.

In this way, the team led by the Italian Carlo Ancelotti won thanks to its greater efficiency against the eleven led by Míchel Sánchez, thus ending a streak of six consecutive victories.
