Safety Damar Hamlin, belonging to the Buffalo Bills in the NFL, officially returned to professional practice after this Sunday he was part of the team that faced the Miami Dolphins, just nine months after suffering cardiac arrest.
At Highmark Stadium in New York it was Hamlin who stole all eyes when he made his official debut this season after three games in which he had not seen action.
As soon as he was present on the grass of the venue, the entire public gave him a well-deserved ovation that lasted several minutes, with the defender constantly thanking him for the support received.
As if that were not enough, Hamlin’s return was triumphant, because his Buffalo Bills team defeated the Miami Dolphins 48-20, allowing him to achieve his third victory of the campaign in four appearances.
Additionally, they not only achieved the victory but also handed the first defeat of the season to Miami, who looked like one of the most solid teams at this start of the season, with 3-0 before the setback.
Hamlin, 25, had suffered a cardiac arrest in the middle of the game during the game on January 2 corresponding to week 17 of the NFL against the Cincinnati Bengals, for which he not only had to be treated but resuscitated, before be transferred to a hospital.
More than a week later he was discharged and since then, without knowing if he would be able to play a professional match again, he began a slow recovery that was certified in April with his return to individual training, collective training with Buffalo in June. and later play three preseason friendly matches at the end of July.
