After beating the American Jermell Charlo 119-108, 118-109 and 118-109, the Mexican Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez extended his legendary career and claimed to be invincible. “I am a strong fighter, I am a strong guy. Nobody can beat this Canelo,” the Mexican told Showtime Boxing as soon as the fight ended.

Canelo Álvarez dominated the fight from start to finish to defend his undisputed super middleweight title against Jermell Charlo who had no choice but to defend himself against the Aztec’s attacks.

“No one can beat this Canelo, I don’t care (who the rival is). “I’m the best, I didn’t get tired, I was able to fight 12 rounds, I showed who is the best,” Canelo said in statements about the ring.

On the other hand, an ESPN journalist asked him about his self-rating of the fight, to which “Canelo” did not hesitate to answer that it was “a 10”: “I did a great job without despairing, that’s what 12 rounds are for, to show who is the best (…) We also had a great rival in front of us, not for nothing is he undisputed in his weight, we did a great job winning all the rounds,” commented the 33-year-old Mexican boxer.

In a post-fight interview with TV Azteca, Canelo said that the preparation carried out in his Lake Tahoe training “quarters” worked to last the 12 rounds.

“That’s what the 12 rounds are for, not necessarily to knock out (…) We know that he is a great rival, but we gave a great demonstration, I felt very good physically and that is the most important thing,” Canelo concluded after winning his 60th fight. .

In this way, Álvarez has a record of 60 wins, two losses and two draws in his professional career.
