The Brazilian Vinícius José Paixão de Oliveira Júnior, better known as Vinícius Jr., will offer his statement this coming Thursday, October 5, before a court in Madrid, capital of Spain, about the racist insults he received on May 21 in a league match where Real Madrid visited Valencia at the Mestalla stadium.
The Brazilian forward’s statement has been postponed twice, initially set for September 28 and later moved to October 5 because the footballer was on vacation abroad on that first date.
According to EFE, the footballer is expected to connect by videoconference from a court in Madrid to answer the questions of the chief judge of the Investigative Court number 10 of Valencia, who is investigating the cause of the insults to the Brazilian.
LaLiga, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and Real Madrid will also testify as accusers.
During the match between Valencia and Real Madrid at Mestalla at the end of last season, Vinicius reported having received racist insults from some fans who were behind the goal, which led to the match being stopped for several minutes.
The events were reported by LaLiga, as had already happened on other occasions in similar situations.
These three fans (between 18 and 23 years old) have already testified in court and are being investigated in an open case for an alleged hate crime.
