A bettor in New York won $2 million in Monday’s Powerball drawing, lottery officials reported.
The winning ticket was sold at the “Smokes 4 Less” store located on North Plank Road in Newburgh, Orange County, he detailed. Pix11.
The numbers in Monday’s drawing were 12, 26, 27, 43, 47 and the red Power Ball was 5. Since there was no jackpot winner the haul rose to an estimated $1.2 billion dollars.
Last week a lucky Powerball player in Queens won $1 million in the drawing on Wednesday the 27th.
Days before, a Powerball lottery player in Westchester County also won $1 million on Saturday the 23rd. Seven other tickets around New York state won $50,000 in that same drawing, including one in Queens.
Players can securely check their tickets in the New York Lottery app or on the official website. Players have up to one calendar year from the time of the drawing to claim their prizes.
At the end of July the Powerball left two winners of $1 million each also in New Jersey. The jackpot was last won on July 19 in California worth $1.08 billion, the third largest in lottery history.
According to statistics, New York is the “luckiest” state in the US due to the number of jackpot winners in the Powerball and Mega Millions lotteries in recent decades.
