Three months after Lionel Messi’s arrival at Inter Miami, the Argentine continues to be the face that the entire public wants to see and for that reason, given the doubt that the number 10 will be present in the match between Chicago Fire and Inter Miami due to injury, tickets dropped in price more than 500%.
Originally the cheapest tickets to be present at Soldier Field in Chicago and be able to see Messi in person had a cost of $170 per person, but since there was no certainty of the star’s presence they dropped to $28 dollars.
The decrease in the cost of tickets came in less than 48 hours and the press conference that Inter Miami coach Gerardo “Tata” Martino had this same Tuesday did not help either, where he did not dare to confirm the presence of his main figure. .
In a curious way and as a way to honor the loyalty of their fans, the Chicago Fire announced a special promotion in which, if Lionel Messi does not play, they will offer a credit of $250 as compensation to be used in next season’s season ticket.
This decision was made due to the possible absence of Messi, who in recent weeks convinced several fans to spend large amounts of money to be at the game.
“The Chicago Fire is excited to host Inter Miami CF at Soldier Field this week. While we do not yet know the official status of Lionel Messi’s availability for our match, as there is never a guarantee that an athlete will play on any given night due to several factors, we understand that many of our fans may be disappointed if they do not have the opportunity to see him play,” wrote the Fire.
“We know there will be many fans attending a Chicago Fire game at Soldier Field for the first time, and we are excited to welcome them to the Fire family and give them the opportunity to become long-term fans by creating a wonderful atmosphere.” , he added.
After the muscle injury suffered by Messi on September 20 against Toronto and his absence in the last three games, Inter Miami has not been able to achieve victory, after drawing in two games and losing the final of the US Open Cup by losing 2 -1 against the Houston Dynamo.
