This Wednesday the first hearing against the Venezuelan player Darwin Machís will take place in the Criminal Court Number 2 of Granada. For the case pending with the Spanish justice system due to an alleged beating of his ex-partner’s boyfriend.
The event occurred on April 4, 2021 in a nightclub in the town of Churriana de la Vega, while Machís was a Granada CF player. Allegedly, the Venezuelan would have participated along with three other people in a confrontation against the companion of Machís’ ex-partner.
The victim suffered multiple injuries. Furthermore, at the time of the escape, the attackers left at high speed in a car. Hitting and causing damage to several vehicles that were parked near the premises.
Given this situation, the Spanish Prosecutor’s Office adjudicates two crimes of injuries and will request a sentence of 18 months in prison for the current Cádiz FC player for the events that occurred.
“Without saying a word, the four of them severely beat the companion of Machís’ ex-wife and a friend of the couple who was accompanying them at that time and subsequently fled at high speed, hitting and causing damage to a vehicle that was correctly parked in front of the premises where the events occurred,” reads the document from the Prosecutor’s Office, which at the same time demands financial compensation from the victim of $6,500 dollars.
For now, the 30-year-old Venezuelan has not commented on the events that occurred, nor on the complaint against him. And it remains to be seen whether he will appear at the preliminary hearing this Wednesday in Court.
Machís arrived at Cádiz this summer from Real Valladolid, the team with which he played half of last season. His record belongs to Granada and in seven days of the Spanish LaLiga he has four starts and two goals.
