The talented quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, wrote his name in the record books by surpassing a mark that had stood for more than three decades.
Mahomes surpassed Dan Marino, legend of the Miami Dolphins and member of the Hall of Fame, in the champions’ 20-23 victory against the New York Jets in week 4 of the NFL season, the professional American football league .
Mahomes became the quarterback to achieve 200 touchdown passes in the fewest number of games. He did it in 84, breaking Marino’s mark of 89 games, who had held the NFL record since 1989.
Plus, it’s even more impressive considering Mahomes has three career games in which he hasn’t thrown a single touchdown pass, including his first career start in 2017. He also became the quarterback earlier this year. fastest fielder to reach 10,000 career passing yards. Marino also held that record.
The Chiefs quarterback passed for 203 yards, had one touchdown, had two interceptions and was sacked once. While with the Jets, Zach Wilson had 245 yards and two passes to the end zone, he was sacked a couple of times.
In the offseason he signed a contract for 10 years and more than $500 million dollars, a figure that although it seems like a lot, is worth it when you see Patrick Mahomes play. In 3 years in the league, he is already a champion, NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP, all at just 25 years old.
