A tragic plane crash occurred Tuesday night in the city of Newberg, near Portland, Oregon, after a small plane plunged to the ground and crashed into a home, killing two people.
According to the authorities, the accident caused the death of two of the plane’s occupants and left another in critical condition, while the inhabitants of the house managed to escape unharmed and were assisted by the Red Cross.
Images of the accident, which were captured by a camera and broadcast by local media KGW, show how the single-engine plane loses control and spirals from the sky until hitting a house. The plane remained partially inside the house, while another part was located in the backyard, according to the report.
Tualatin Valley firefighters and rescuers responded to the scene of the accident and found two people dead and a third seriously injured, who was transported by helicopter to a trauma hospital in Portland. Until now it is not known about her current state of health.
The authorities have not released the identity of the victims nor the causes of the accident. The plane belonged to Hillsboro Aero Academy, a flight school located about 20 miles north of Newberg.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are leading the investigations, with assistance from the Newberg-Dundee Police Department.
