Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani announced that he will sue President Joe Biden for referring to him as a “Russian pawn” during a presidential debate against Donald Trump in 2020.

At a news conference in New Hampshire on Wednesday afternoon, Giuliani, who is also former President Trump’s former lawyer, argued that Biden’s comments have cost him “millions and millions of dollars” in lost clients and consulting business.

“He called me a Russian pawn. That is a lie, that is false,” said the former mayor of New York. “Joe Biden has spent his life telling lies,” he added before adding: “That’s what’s called slander, defamation per se.”

Former President Trump’s former lawyer also referred to President Biden as a “pathological liar.”

William O’Brien, Giuliani’s attorney, explained that the lawsuit is being filed in New Hampshire since the state allows recovery of damages even if the statements were distributed or published in other jurisdictions.

Giuliani vs Hunter Biden

Indeed, Joe Biden’s statements occurred in a presidential debate. The then Democratic presidential candidate addressed Giuliani’s claims about the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop and foreign corruption.

“His own national security advisor told him what’s going on with his friend, I shouldn’t do it, I actually will,” Biden said. And he added: “His friend Rudy Giuliani. They are using him as a Russian pawn. They are giving him information that he is Russian, and that is not true.”

Giuliani announced the lawsuit against President Biden just a week after it emerged that the president’s son sued him for alleged computer fraud violations and access to data related to a laptop that Biden is said to have left at a computer repair shop. Delaware.

Hunter Biden maintains that the defendants violated the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) by unauthorized access to his devices or storage platforms, causing damage to his data, and transmitting it to third parties. He also alleged that they violated the Electronic Storage Privacy Act (ECPA) by intercepting or disclosing his electronic communications without his consent.
