MTV revealed this Wednesday the nominees for the 2023 MTV EMAs, and highlighted that Taylor Swift leads the list with seven mentions, including Best Artist, Best Song and Best Video.

She is closely followed by Olivia Rodrigo and SZA with six nominations each, also for Best Artist, Best Song and Best Video. Then, with four mentions, Doja Cat, Måneskin, Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj appear.

“There are twenty-six newcomers nominated for music’s biggest global celebration, with three nominations for BTS’s Jung Kook, marking his first MTV EMA nomination as a solo artist,” MTV announced in a press release.

“Central Cee, FLO, Ice Spice and PinkPantheress each earned three nominations, while Asake, Coi Leray, Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, NewJeans, Peso Pluma and Reneé Rapp are nominated twice.”

This year, the MTV EMAs will add a new category, Best Afrobeats, and the artists competing for the award are Asake, Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Davido and Rema.

Paris Nord Villepinte will be the official venue of the MTV EMAs 2023. This edition marks its return to Paris for the first time since 1995 with a colorful show that promises several memorable special performances.
